A message to our customers: COVID-19 response
We are certainly living in unprecedented times right now, but we want to reassure you that Newson’s will remain open to serve you and your families, albeit in a more limited way than before. The Government of Ontario has deemed our business to be an essential service, however given restrictions that apply to how we operate, we are finding new ways to meet your needs.
In-store we have implemented social distancing policies – only one family will be allowed in the building at a time. Please respect this and be patient with us and others.
We ask that, where possible, you browse our website (www.newsons.ca) to browse our available products and to place orders.
Shopping for New & Used Bikes or Accessories:
If you are interested in shopping for a new or used bike or biking accessories, we would ask that you please visit us online at www.newsons.ca to view our wide selection of products. If you don’t have time to browse online and would like our help in finding you something that meets your needs, please e-mail us at email@example.com with the following information:
- New or Used
- Adult or Kids Bike
- Price Range
- Bike Type, Style or Frame Preference (if known)
- Bike Colour Preference
- How you plan to use the bike (e.g. commuting, leisure, fitness, racing)
- Where you plan to ride your bike (e.g. paved roads, bike paths, off road)
- What is most important to you in a bike (e.g. comfort, style, speed, simplicity)
- How tall are you?
- Anything else you want to add or that we should know?
You are able to order directly from our website, however we will also do our best to facilitate transactions with you over the phone and e-mail. Delivery fees may apply and will vary depending on your location. Some delays may occur due to demand – once your order is ready, we will contact you and arrange a pick-up time. Please be patient with us as we process these online orders.
As you can appreciate, we are currently operating with a limited number of qualified mechanics amidst some significant health and safety restrictions. We hope you understand that this will impact how quickly we are able to turnaround bikes for both repairs and tune-ups. As of now (late May) tune-ups are backed up by at least a week – as the situation changes, we will keep you posted.
When your repair or tune-up is complete, we will contact you to arrange for pick-up.
Hours of Operation:
For the time being, we have reduced our hours of operation. We are open Tuesday – Sunday, 11-5.
We are experiencing a high volume of phone calls, so if you are unable to get through, please try again later or send us an e-mail with your contact info and we will respond as quickly as we can.
Our Ask of You:
Please be patient – we are doing the best we can to serve everyone! If you do come to the store, please observe social distancing measures by respecting our policy of ONE family in-store at a time, and appropriately distancing while standing in line.
We realize that this customer experience is not ideal for many of you and ask for your patience as we try to navigate through these difficult times. We promise that we will do our best to find you the products and accessories that meet your needs and those of your families.
As a reminder, if you are feeling unwell, have had exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 or you have just returned from outside Canada, we ask that you follow the Health Canada guidelines for self-quarantine at home.
